When it comes to women and franchising, times are changing for the better. More women than ever now own their own businesses, and that is especially true in franchising.
According to research from the Franchise Business Review, as of May 2019, women owned or co-owned around 265,000 or 35% of the franchise outlets in the U.S. That represents growth of 24% from a decade earlier. In the two years which ended in May last year, 41% of new franchise outlets opened have been owned or co-owned by women.
Analysts expect these numbers will grow significantly in the coming years.
