'I try to make life easier': Palm Beach Gardens caregiver earns national recognition amid pandemic

Luis Guzman, a 64-year-old grandfather from West Palm Beach, has been selected from more than 12,000 caregivers across North America as ComForCare’s Caregiver of the Year.

With more than 225 independently owned and operated franchises in the U.S. and Canada, ComForCare helps older adults live independently in their own homes.

Guzman, a caregiver for more than 17 years, told the Palm Beach Post that the coronavirus pandemic has made caregiving more challenging, but he loves his work.

“Some people have no relatives to help,” Guzman said. “I want to take care of them and help people in that way.”
