Edible COO and President Cheikh Mboup was among several franchise leaders asked by Entrepreneur magazine for thoughts on how franchises responded to the challenges of 2020.
“This year confirmed the importance of empathy,” Mboup said, adding that Edible franchisees quickly realized that gifts and arrangements weren’t top of mind for customers. “What was top of mind was the need for fresh, nutritious food delivered safely to their homes. Edible had supplier relationships, an e-commerce platform and delivery capabilities to support that need. We quickly pivoted to introduce fresh produce for delivery, which became a top-selling product in a matter of weeks.”
