The brutal February storm that battered Texas with freezing temperatures and massive power outages led to millions of Texans scrambling to find plumbers to repair the damage.
After spending hours and even days without power in record-low temperatures, homeowners were greeted with busted water heaters, cracked and broken pipes and water damage to their homes once the thaw began.
Houston Mr. Rooter Plumbing franchisee Rich Vigil told Plumbing & Mechanic he received as many calls in a single day (2,000) as he typically receives over several months.
The damage ranged from simple pipe beaks to entire second floor ceilings caved in.
